Know Your Dough – Financial Literacy – Thursday, February 20, 5:30-7pm, 1180 Duderstadt Center

How’s that bank account looking? Not sure where the money goes? Come build financial literacy skills and identify better spending habits by thinking through your priorities, wants, and needs. Learn with and from other students. Pizza will be served, so please register in advance.

Check out all the events all around campus! Join engineering students at our METS events this week – just for you!

Trivia Night – Wednesday, February 12, 6:30-9pm, Michigan League-Kalamazoo Room

Put that brainpower to the test, and have some fun doing it. Grab some dinner, drop some knowledge, and hang out with other engineering transfer students. Come on your own, or start your own team (maximum of six members, every member has to register). We’ll finalize teams by 7pm. Food, fun, and prizes! Registration (but no studying) required.

Grab-n-Go Gourmet Coffee Bar – Monday, February 10, 9-11am, Duderstadt Connector

Jumpstart your day with coffee – just the way you like it. Level up with flavored syrups, cinnamon, whip cream, or chocolate shavings. Swing by our table on your way to class!

METS@The Movies – Sunday, February 9, 2020, 4:30pm, Michigan Theater

Join us at the historic Michigan Theater for a fun movie with friends. We’ll watch Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, then head over to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. If you can only join us for the movie, that’s fine, just let us know on the registration form.

Career Fair Panel and Prep – January 14, 6:30-8pm, 133 Chrysler

Review the discussion from our panel presentation here. Remember to check the Engineering Career Resource Center events calendar. Look for their workshops, Pitch Practice opportunities, and Career Days. Look for any industry events sponsored by student organizations and departments. These small events are excellent ways to connect with employers. They are more casual and comfortable than the Career Fair. You can have real conversations with employers without the frenzy of Career Fair.
Learn from other transfer students how to make the most of the Career Fair. Hear the do’s and don’ts, get a quick resume review, and practice your pitch. We’ll help you put your best foot forward at the Fair! Dinner will be served, RSVP required!

METS Movie Night – January 10, State Theater

Join us for a free movie at the State Theater! For the first 50 students to confirm, this is your chance to see Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker (again). Meet other engineering transfer students, experience the timeless State Theater, maybe even grab a bite to eat after the show. Meetup (location tbd) at 9:15pm, movie starts at 9:40pm. Space is limited, and we’ll keep a waitlist. Sign up HERE
